PowerExt started with a single Chrome extension. In 2024 I built Scribe Menu because I was tired of copying text into ChatGPT every time I wanted a proofread. Two years later, PowerExt has four apps, and they all sign in with the same account.

The idea behind all of them is the same: small apps that each do one job well. No bloat, no feature for the sake of a feature.

The four apps

App What it does Where it runs
Scribe Menu AI actions in your browser’s right-click menu Chrome extension
Wander Watches flight and hotel prices for your budget Web app
Tandem A shared home notebook for couples Web app
Mind A private journal that reads along Web app (new)

Scribe Menu: your prompts, one right-click away

Scribe Menu is still the one I use every day. You create your own AI actions, each with its own prompt, inputs and output, and they show up in the right-click menu on any website. Select text, pick an action, and the result appears inline, with no tab switching.

If you don’t want to write prompts, it comes with starter templates: Summarize, Improve Writing, Email Reply and Sentiment Analysis.

Wander: budget travel, watched for you

You tell Wander where you want to go and how much you can spend. It keeps checking flight and hotel prices across sources so you don’t have to:

  • Price watches for flights and hotels, checked regularly
  • An email when a price drops under your budget, or well below its usual level
  • The same hotel room compared across booking platforms
  • Trip plans that combine fares, stays and places to see

Tandem: a shared notebook for two

Tandem is for running a home together: groceries, plans, routines, gifts and important dates, in one place you both can see.

  • Every item is either shared or private, so some things stay just yours
  • Assign things to yourself, your partner, or both
  • Track due dates for bills, renewals and events
  • Invite your partner with a code and you’re set up

Tandem doesn’t use any AI credits.

Mind: a private journal that reads along

Mind is the newest app. You jot down a moment in a few seconds, by writing, speaking or adding a photo, and voice notes become text. Mind reads each entry and keeps track of how your days felt, who was in them and what you’re working towards.

Then you can look back: a mood calendar, a timeline, and search by meaning. You can even ask your journal a question and see the entries behind the answer. And if Mind gets a feeling, person or goal wrong, you can correct it.

One account, one pool of AI credits

All four apps use the same PowerExt Account, which you can sign in to with Google, email or a passkey.

The AI features in Scribe Menu, Wander and Mind share one balance of credits instead of three separate subscriptions:

Plan Price AI credits a month Scribe forms
Free $0 150 3
Plus $8 / month 1,800 25
Pro $20 / month 5,000 Unlimited

Need more in a busy month? Credit packs start at $5 for 1,000 credits, on any plan including Free, with no subscription. You can cancel a plan any time.

How the data is handled

This part matters to me as much as the features:

  • Private by default. In Tandem, anything marked private stays yours, even from your partner. In Wander, your watches and trips are yours unless you share them. Your Mind journal is visible only to you.
  • Hosted in the EU. All four apps and the account service run on servers in the European Union, with encrypted nightly backups.
  • No data for sale. Each app stores what it needs to work for you, and you can ask for it to be deleted at any time.
  • Plain privacy policies. Each product has its own policy saying what it stores, who processes it and how to delete it.

What’s next

More tools are coming. If there’s a small, focused app you wish existed, tell me at powerext.co/contact. That’s how Scribe Menu started: one annoyance, one tool.
